Manfred Horstmann
Globalfoundries Dresden, Germany
Manfred Horstmann received the M.S. (1994) and PhD degree (1996) in physics from Technical University Aachen (RWTH) in cooperation with Research Center Juelich, specializing in the area of high speed semiconductor devices on Silicon and III-V materials.
Since 1997 he served at different management positions in the Technology and Development organization of AMD and then GLOBALFOUNDRIES in Dresden.
Currently he is responsible for the Device Development Department in Dresden, Germany. The department focus on development and transfer of CMOS transistor technologies down to the 22nm technology generation, the performance roadmap and the cooperation with external partners on device research projects.
Since 2005 he is member and advisor of the scientific board of the solid-state physic institutes of Research Center Juelich and Helmholtz Association. He served as session chairman at multiple conferences (IEDM etc.), authored or co-authored ca. 120+ publications on III-V and CMOS devices and holds ca. 100+ patents on semiconductor technology.
